The Local Schools Community Fund applications are now open. The Australian Government is providing up to $200,000 to each Federal electorate to benefit students and school communities through funding contributions for small scale projects and their associated costs. Schools can apply for funding for one project between $1,000 and $20,000.
Where a school is composed of multiple campuses, the school or campus may submit an application for each campus to fund a project between $1,000 and $20,000. Schools should identify their projects in consultation with their local school community. Prior to applying for funding for a project, schools are required to notify their approved authority.
Applications open 25 July 2019 and are to be submitted through the Department of Education’s SchoolsHUB portal at https://schools.education.gov.au by 5:00 pm AEST on 30 September 2019.
For further information, guidelines, frequently asked questions and other information about the Fund are on the Department of Education’s website at www.education.gov.au/local-schools-community-fund.
I encourage schools in Mitchell to take advantage of this opportunity through the Fund and wish you all the best for the application process.
